Audi to Build Q5 and Possibly Q3 SUVs

Automotive News is reporting that Audi will definitely build a Q5 SUV aimed at the X3 by 2008 and could possibly build a Q3 as well. The article says SUV, but more that likely these vehicles will be car based crossovers. There has been some speculation that the Roadjet concept would be the basis for the Q5. Everyone wants a piece of this segment and it will be interesting to see where it goes. Of course the Acura RDX is soon to arrive and there have been a lot of spyshots of Mercedes' X3 competitor that is being referred to as the MLK. As I had just recently discussed, Saab is also interested in fielding an entry. A Q3 seems a bit of a tougher sell for the US market. Pricing would have to be around $25k and that would rapidly rise and start to bump heads with the Q5.
