Big Movie Roles For smart

In the next few months the smart fortwo will get more exposure to US audiences than ever before as two movies, The Pink Panther and The DaVinci Code, will both feature the wee little bugger. Interestingly both movies are under the Sony Pictures umbrella. I'm sure that the Pink Panther folks were attracted to the comic dimensions of the car and The DaVinci Code actually used the fortwo in the plot of the book, so it's a natural fit for the movie. Now the question becomes, will smart build on this momentum by announcing the intent to bring the car to the USA? I'm still standing by my prediction that the fortwo will be headed to the USA no earlier that fall 2007 as a 2008 model with an announcement coming by the end of April.
