Fly Away on My Zephyr

Introducing the 2007 MKZ "Mark Z" which is the new name for the Zephyr. Along with the new moniker, the Z gets a new, more powerful 3.5-liter V-6 engine, a newly designed front end, and more traction with available all-wheel drive (AWD).

Camps may be split on the new naming scheme. Personally, I really liked Zephyr but it seems that Lincoln wants to draw focus to the marque (no pun intended) and not the model. I'm not sure that this name change will be convincing, but Lincoln feels that it has to try something to kick start the brand.

The real news for me is the availability of Ford's all-new Duratec 3.5l V-6 engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 240 pounds-foot of torque verses 221/205 of the outgoing engine.

For your viewing pleasure I've lined up the 2006 and 2007 models so that you can compare the front ends. The 2007 model is the black car.
