VW Freshens

Let's see...a quick flash intro with a black background and then open to a scene of a new GTI roasting its front tires. Looks like ad agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky is trying to liven things up at vw.com. Mini's former ad agency was chosen by VW after it fired its ad agency of nearly a decade, Arnold Worldwide. I was waiting to see what they would do with the website and it looks like things are starting to take shape--although the look and feel does seem a little disjointed to me. Other than the flash intro and the "take a joyride" GTI promo, what else has really changed? Why waste a new intro on an old site design? Wouldn't it be wiser to wait until the entire website revamp is ready for launch? Bah, anyway while your at VW's site, why not build a new GTI? What do you think of the option layout? Most options are bundled into packages and the top package traps you into the leather seats. What if I want the sunroof, dual climate and fanny warmers but also want to keep the cool looking cloth seats? Ms. Helga says "Nein!"
