2007 Mercedes S-Class

I saw my first new 2007 S-Class actually prowling the streets today and I have to say it looked really good. When I first saw the car at the LA show, I wasn't that impressed. However, when I saw the car today it really caught my attention. This car is loaded with gizmos, so we'll see how the quality is. Mercedes has said that they really sweated the details on this model. However, the radar crash avoidance demonstration that ended in a crash doesn't inspire confidence. In the review the author cites an indecisive transmission and that's a real disappointment. Whenever I drive a car with an automatic transmission, I always hope that the transmission has its wits about it and when it comes to a car that is closing in the century mark in price I expect that the transmission will know what do to before I do. You can read a review of the new S550 here.
