Ford Five Hundred Refresh Spy Pix


A boatload of spy pictures showed up today. In this installment we catch Ford putting a spiffed up Five Hundred through its paces. The Five Hundred needs two things to change to make it a real competitor: zippier styling and a peppier engine. Look for these two things to happen when the pictured car hits the showroom. It's a shame that Ford didn't have the 3.5L engine ready when this car debuted, but I have to give them props for not dumping in an engine that was only 1/2 ready and then having to suffer the rath of unhappy customers. Not that Ford hasn't done that before :-) The Five Hundred's little sister, the Fusion, has done well with the new Ford family grill and it should help the Five Hundred look a little perkier.
