Honda Fit Hits the Lots!
Now that we are living in the "Society of Fit" how is Honda's new gem doing? Well for one, dealers are marking it up. Folks are reporting a $1500 to $2000 markup called a "limited availability fee" in some areas. With some negotiation that markup can probably be dropped and you'd end up paying MSRP or maybe even a little under--especially if you're willing buy some of their accessories. Is it worth it? Reviewers in the USA are raving about the car and Auto Express gave the Jazz its top used car honors. My brief experience with the car in London was a good one. I was amazed at the simplicity and usefulness of the "magic seat." What would hold me back? The Nissan Versa has some interested features to me: the 6 speed manual or CVT (Nissan has done a lot of CVT development and they are becoming quite good), the "intelligent key" option, and bluetooth phone connectivity. Some early drivers of the Fit complain that the car is quite buzzy when pushed, no seat height adjustment, no center armrest, and no locking fuel filler door. The bottom line is a test drive for each of the cars in question. I would also recommend that you visit Edmunds' forums on the Fit by clicking here. You can also check out this Jazz accessory brochure that shows an available center armrest by clicking here and then compare to what we have in the USA by clicking here.
