Drive a Saturn, Make $25
I remember the last time that I participated in on Saturn drive event. It was the middle of a Saturday and the dealership was a ghost town. There was a sales manager and one other sales person there. They really perked up when I walked in, but quickly settled down once they saw the test drive certificate. The manager seemed pretty resigned to his fate, but was very excited by the new products in the pipeline. Once I was done at Saturn, I went to Hyundai dealer with another certificate. The place was a madhouse! Just like those commercials you see on TV, there were customers everywhere. It took me 10 minutes to park and then another 10 minutes to find someone to help me. They had no time for the certificates, they just signed it and sent me on my way (an option I always give to dealerships that are busy). What a difference between those two places! I think that Saturn is definitely on the upswing, so those days should be over.

As a bit of history, here's an e-mail that I wrote to Saturn back in 2003 suggesting the idea of bringing the Astra to the USA. Windows might shrink the image by default, so you'll have to click the little button to enlarge the photo.
