Chrysler and Mercedes to Get Even Cozier

Edmunds is reporting that even more component sharing will occur between the two DCX divisions. I've always thought that shared development can improve the breed. Higher end parts can be engineered and then produced in large volumes so that prices are lowered. The savings could be used to increase profits or add more standard equipment. Of course the downside to this is, if the part in question has a failure the recall could be massive.

The great differentiator is always going to be styling so who cares if the bits underneath are shared (as long as they are good bits).

Complete story here.
