Ford Sales Down by 1.9%
Ford saw a 1.9% sales drop for May. FoMoCo sold 277,464 light vehicles last month, down from 282,799 in May 2005. Cars sales rose 6.4% to 108,248, while sales of light trucks fell 6.6% to 169,216. Sales the Ford Explorer and Expedition, dropped 21%, while combined sales of the Ford Escape, Ford Freestyle, and Mercury Mariner rose 12%. The F-Series pickup fell 5.8%.
Not a warm and fuzzy announcement, but certainly Chryslers’ 11% drop has to be making folks at the blue oval feel a smidge better.
