Big Three Dealers: Give Us a Break! Trailblazer and Envoy to Die for Crossovers; Nissan Quest to Move to Japan? Cadillac Marketing to Target Conquest Sales

Inventories at the Detroit three dealerships are brimming and that means pressure is on for to clear the decks. Chrysler has moved first in the battle and is hoping that GM and Ford will have to follow suit. Dealers are pleading for more incentives to help move the metal. July will be an interesting month to see what will happen. I predict that between Ford and GM it will be Ford who blinks first.

It looks like the Trailblazer’s and its little friend the Envoy’s days are numbered. GM is moving towards crossovers and the old style models just are going to cut it anymore.

Nissan may move the production of the Quest minivan from Mississippi to Japan. The question becomes, what would replace the model at the Miss. manufacturing plant?

After the Superbowl “fashion show” ad debacle, Cadillac is moving on to a new advertising agency (Modernista) and a new goal: conquest sales.
