Vauxhall, Where Art Thou?

Roaming around England for a few weeks got me to wondering about Vauxhall. More specifically, what's the point? It's not like buyers aren't aware of the fact that Vauxhalls are rebadged Opels. When prodded about Vauxhall, Bob Lutz had the following to say to an Auto Express columnist: "If you could wave a magic wand and bring it all under one brand, let's say Opel, without a short term dramatic decrease in sales, I think we'd do it because it makes all the sense in the world." But later on in the interview Lutz mentioned that he sees no reason to dump the Vauxhall badge for the time being. We'll have to wait and see what GM's strategy is for the Griffin badge over the next ten years or so.

One Opel that Vauxhall wont' be getting is the GT. The Saturn SKY rebadge would reportedly cost too much to refit for right hand drive.
