2008 Honda Odyssey Pricing

Honda released pricing for its lightly refreshed 2008 Odyssey. The big deal, I think, is that PAX tires are now optional on the Touring model. Good riddance. Also, active head restraints have been added for the front passengers. I'm sure Honda wanted to get this feature added quickly so as to get back into good graces with the IIHS. The Kia Sedona/Hyundai Entourage had stolen IIHS's "top safety pick" because they have the active restraints. The '08 Odyssey should now be able to join the Korean twins at the top of the list.

The Variable Cylinder Management system now offers additional capability to selectively deactivate either two or three of the engine's six cylinders during cruising and deceleration (instead of three, exclusively). Bluetooth hands free cell phone capability is now available, but only on the top end models. I think this is a mistake. A huge chunk of buyers in California will be scrambling for hands free operation when the new laws kick in on January 1, 2008. Why not lead the pack by offering this feature on the whole range? There are couple of other changes, such as daytime running headlights, but on the whole the rest is of much less interest.

This is still the minivan to buy if your life requires such a thing. We really do love our Odyssey.

You can check out the '08 Odyssey "What's New" page here. You can visit IIHS's 2007 minivan safety ratings page here.

Pricing is shown below:

$25,860 LX
$28,960 EX
$32,210 EX-L
$40,010 Touring
$40,610 Touring w/ PAX
