Bill of Sale Example Document

As a followup to my previous post about selling a car, I thought I'd show you an example of what I use. Ideally this document would be paired with a "Release of Liability" that you file with your DMV. You can find out about your state by visiting dmv.org (a private website) "release of liability online" page located here.

Now, I'm not an attorney so there might be a million things wrong with this document. If you do use it and something goes wrong, I don't want a rusted out Maxima on my front lawn. Consult an attorney if you're really worried about creating an air tight document. Notice something wrong or missing in the document? Please let me know and I'll make the changes.
