In the October issue of Motor Trend, Mike Conner quoted inside sources at GM stating that the 3.6 liter "high feature" V-6 has a minor NVH problem that was the result of a design fault and could not be fixed.
This quote was bandied around many discussion forums with most people dismissing any NVH is being extremely minor. I myself didn't notice any NVH issues in the CTS models that I tested.
Now that the December issue of Motor Trend has arrived, I notice that Conner is backing away from the sensationalism of his earlier post.
"My recent item on an NVH problem with GM's 3.6 liter "high feature" V-6 garnered as much mail as I've ever received. The problem is this: A minor tertiary vibration on the floorboard that you can feel only under high RPM."
