Pirelli Calendar

The Pirelli calendar, it's been around for years and its exclusive mailing list certainly is a "model" of scarcity marketing. Photographer Patrick Demarchelier uses Shanghai as a backdrop for 2008's "Pearls of the Orient" theme. Some of the photos are still "not safe for work" but overall the ladies are much more modestly dressed. You don't have to buy four million tires to get on the list as the calendar has its own website (which currently seems to be overloaded).
