Let's hear it for leap year, folks! Honda posted a record February sales results of 115,397 Honda and Acura vehicles, an increase of 0.7 percent over February 2007. Leading the way were the sales of the Fit, Pilot and CR-V. Honda is in the enviable position of selling every possible Fit that it can make. Comparing Feb '08 to Feb '07, the Fit was up 61.8%. Had Honda been able to stuff more Fits on a boat, then that number would have likely been higher.
What's relevant to my situation, however, are Odyssey sales. Since I'm looking for a new family truckster, I'm waiting to see what Honda will do with its current factory to dealer incentive on its van. The Ody was down 9.3% when compared to last February, but fared better than January when it was down 21.7%. I think it's safe to say that Honda won't be increasing the current $2,000 incentive. Let's hope for a financing deal.
