Interesting is it not that not but a few days after I rail against the idiocy of genuine faux fender vents, Ford shows a picture of a 2009 Focus coupe without such appendages. Praise be! The 2009 Focus receives a number of enhancements such as new front and rear fascias, a new roof-line spoiler and standard 17-inch aluminum wheels on the SES series, increased horsepower on 5-speed manual versions and quicker acceleration, thanks to a new final drive ratio on models with four-speed automatic transmissions – without any compromise to Focus' 35-miles-per-gallon fuel economy rating. Most importantly in my book, however, is the availability of stability control. Please make sure that your next car has this invaluable safety feature.
All in all the Focus coupe does look somewhat better. I like the dark chrome wheels, which I think compliment the car's appearance quite nicely. I'd like to make it clear that I would not buy or recommend one of these cars (I'd refer you to sister division Mazda), but that's just my point of view. Given the jump in sales that the 2008 model has experienced, clearly the Focus has struck a popular chord. The Fiesta, however, cannot come soon enough. Now there's a car with style!
