Mazda ups warranty on RX-8 engines - AutoWeek Magazine
Mazda has decided to up the warranty on the RX8's rotary engine to eight years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). You may recall the previous scandal where it was disclosed that Mazda wouldn't count RX-8 owners' opinions in its internal customer-satisfaction scores. Mazda then replaced the engines in many of its flagship sports cars. We'll see if this extended warranty will boost consumer confidence in rotary engine technology.
Mazda is also extending the eight year engine warranty from the date of purchase to current owners of 2004-2008 RX-8s and has begun notifying them.
