Hybrid and Diesel Minivans

Would you buy a hybrid minivan?

A recent article in Canada's Windsor Star discusses Chrysler's plans for two-mode hybrid and diesel minivans. Nothing official yet, but sources say that it's all but a done deal. VW could either offer the Mercedes sourced unit or stick in its own oil burner in the Routan. Toyota will most certainly be serving up a hybrid Sienna in the future and Honda could stick a diesel in its next Odyssey.

Minivans can be very thirsty little buggers in town. Our van frequently displays at 16MPG average. If an extra 2-3 grand at the outset could net a nice improvement in the city, then I'd definitely be interested.
