Here's a little video clip from the WSJ that covers hybrid-electric bicycles. A company called OHM Cycles Ltd produces an aluminum commuter bike that utilizes a torque sensing rear-wheel hub motor that can provide varying levels of assist. What is even cooler is that you can enable regenerative braking for downhill coasting. Pretty cool. The bike does weigh in at 50 pounds and will set you back a hefty $2,195.
You can read the WSJ article here. You can check out OHM Cycles' website here.
