Ford Credit Cuts Back On Leasing, Citing Risks - WSJ.com
Ford announced today, in a quarterly filing with the SEC, that its lending arm is scaling back its leasing activities considerably. Ford had been running at about an 18 percent leasing mix in the first of the year, down to 13 percent in July and that number is expected to drop even further. With a restructuring of incentives, interest rates and residual values, many vehicles may become prohibitively expensive or "unleasable." Maybe the could get McHammer to re-record his hit song to be "You Can't Lease This." All joking aside, look for juicy purchase incentives to help folks forget all about leasing.
