Mr. Tata, Tear Down This Wall! Protests May Delay Nano

Like Ronald Reagan's famous speech in Germany, masses of protesters are assembling in eastern India outside the boundary walls of what will be the factory that assembles the Tata Nano. Land owners claim that property for the factory was forcibly taken from them and although promised compensation, some farmers have not yet received their dues. "We will try to break the factory wall...as many times as we can," said Toofan Ruidas, a farmer, as he pointed at marks made in the boundary wall by his fellow protesters' implements. Tata's construction project has already been disrupted by flooding, but the company still hopes to begin producing the ~$2,500 car in the fourth quarter of this year.
