Smart Testing 2010 Model Tweaks?

Recently a handful of current generation smart fortwo owners were invited to evaluate a revised model targeted for 2010 sale. The invite is quoted below. The model was not entirely new, but rather a current model with "subtle changes." It's unclear at this point what exactly those changes are, but given that the clinic involved actually test driving the vehicle, we can speculate that some of those changes effect the way the car drives. I would doubt that the model would be the forthcoming hybrid, but could potentially be a micro-hybrid (even though smart's USA distributor is dubious about the added cost verses benefit of the mhd). Could it be a revision for the much maligned transmission? Brabus turbo? Hopefully some of the attendees will spill some details soon.

Dear Current smart fortwo Owner,

smart is currently developing a new fortwo model that is scheduled to enter the U.S. market in 2010. As a current fortwo owner, your insights and perspective are invaluable in helping to shape the future of the fortwo. As a result, smart and J.D. Power and Associates would like to invite you to test drive and evaluate the new fortwo model. The smart fortwo Drive Clinic will be held in the San Francisco area from September 18th through September 23rd. During this clinic you will have the opportunity to test drive several different fortwo vehicles and provide your feedback by completing a short questionnaire on each of the vehicles. Your participation in the evaluation will take approximately 3 hours. In appreciation of your participation, a $200 cash incentive will be given.
