Some Aberdeen (UK) area residents are dismayed to find that kids are trying to get "high score" on signs intended to make speeders slow down. Living on a rather fast street myself, I share these folks' concern; but at a young age the lure of impressing your friends with a local speed record is probably inevitable. I think the remedy here is to simply have the sign flash after a certain speed, let's say 10 MPH over, and not actually display the speed of the vehicle. For most young drivers that would mean "game over."
