I'll admit to being impressed with the EX35 when it first hit the auto show circuit. The interior was absolutely fabulous and there were gadgets galore to play with. What could be better? Well, after awhile reality began to set in for me. The rear seat was a bit cramped and there was an absolute dearth of cargo space. Further compounding the issue, when I totalled up all the options available the EX was suddenly pushing $50k. Yowzers.
Flash forward to the present day and Infiniti is in a bit of a pickle. The EX hasn't been selling in the numbers that it had hoped for, even with 72 months of zero percent financing on offer. To that end, Infiniti is now going to try and remedy the situation. According to Automotive News, the 2010 EX will get more rear legroom and a revised marketing pitch aimed at buyers other than couples and single people.
I'm not clear on how Infiniti will offer more legroom. Perhaps thinner seatbacks or shorter seat cushions? Certainly they wouldn't rob more cargo room, would they?
