"Hey Jim, I've got to do something real quick...Would you mind standing in this bus lane for me? I'll be right back." In one of those "Huh?" moments, Jim Taylor has left his position at one of GM's crown jewels, the Cadillac brand, to become CEO of Hummer. Taylor became Cadillac general manager in August 2004 and has presided over a great renaissance of the brand. Does anyone even remember when Cadillac admitted to fudging sales results? Polishing the leadership at Hummer could help make the brand more saleable. I'm not sure how much GM was to invest in a new product portfolio for the brand at this point, so Taylor's job just might be to sit at the helm and look pretty to prospective buyers.
