Edmunds Auto Observer, citing an "insider source," says that Honda is working on a range of cars using an all-new, rear-drive architecture to target the BMW 3, 5 and 7 Series. Now it is important to note the word "plans" because Honda doesn't actually have mules running around the streets already. If brought to life, these cars wouldn't see the light of day until perhaps the middle of the next decade.
Also according to Edmunds, Acura's V8 won't be in a showroom near you until much later than the 18 month time frame that has been bandied about. Of course, there are no specific names to attribute this rumor to, so file this under speculation at this point.
To be honest, I'm not worried about any of the above. I am more interested in when Acura will start producing attractive cars again. It has gone from bad to worse, with the new TL hopefully serving as the low point in Acura's design history.
