CA Lawmaker Calls Ford Explorer "Piece of Junk." Leases $46K Cadillac CTS

They might not be flying around in corporate jets, but California lawmakers aren't hurting when it comes to transportation options. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Democrat Mark Leno is leasing a $32,000 Toyota Camry hybrid, Contra Costa County's Senator Mark DeSaulnier and fellow Democrat Joe Simitian of Palo Alto both have new, $34,000 Nissan Altimas. Top prize? Republican Sen. Bob Huff of Diamond Bar who is riding around in a loaded CTS that he describes as "Hardly top of the line" and a big step up from his "Piece of junk" Ford Explorer.

It's nice to see that lawmakers aren't holding back as our cash strapped state struggles to survive. As Will Ferrell would say, "Stay classy San Diego!"

Well if we forced all of our tax subsidized leases to be autos from the Big 3 it would be a nice extra bailout.

I remember the first time that Chrysler was in really big trouble, there were a whole lot of Dodge Diplomats in government fleets.
