Kind of inevitable--luxury RV manufacturer Monaco Coach gave termination notices Monday to the vast majority of its work force. I visited Monaco's homepage, where the featured RV "starts" at $600k plus, so you can easily envision where its troubles lay.
Monaco Coach Corporation is based in Coburg, Oregon, so I used to see the plant all the time when I drove by. It always seemed like a fixture, just something that was there. Nearby Junction City was a mecca for RV dealers. Nothing like buying a spendy RV in sales-tax-free Oregon and the using your buddy's address to register it.
