With Oscar Mayer Jr. dead, Wienermobiles have sensed a disruption in the force

Wienermobile "Bologna" (source: wikipedia/scottfamily5)

On July 6, 2009 Oscar G. Mayer, Jr., grandson of the founder and the third Oscar Mayer, died at the age of 95 in Hospice Care in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Since that time, a number is disturbing Wienermobile incidents have taken place.

On July 17, 2009 a Wienermobile penetrated a garage after its driver had some transmission/brake confusion.

Now the "Outdoor Circle," an environmental group dedicated to protecting Hawaii's scenery, claims the Wienermobile is in violation of the Hawaii's ban on vehicular advertising.

A gallery of Wienermobiles has been assembled for your viewing pleasure, you can view the pictures in the slideshow below this post.

Below is a TV station's coverage of the Wienermobile crash. It is so riddled with hot dog puns that this author feels compelled to warn you: Watch at your own risk (oh, go ahead and watch it...don't be a wiener).
