Smart...The Plot Thickens

Autoweek is now reporting that smart fortwos might be sold in the USA by Roger Penske's United Auto Group. This would make some sense, because MBUSA has firmly said in the past that they do not want lower priced models. Autoweek also mentions that Mercedes might split passenger-car operations into two divisions: small cars and large cars, with smart brought under the new small-car arm. This would also make some sense and could open the way for something like the Mercedes B Class to be sold in the USA alongside the smart fortwo.
