In horrible turn of events, two Comcast vans that were estimated to be travelling in excess of 75MPH caused an accident that placed a young girl on life support. Originally I was sent a link from the site Consumerist, but since that time I've found an even better version over at Broadband Reports:
Granted Comcast is a large company and therefore it will have its fair share of disaster stores. However, at some point you do have to wonder about hiring practices and background checks. I would also wonder if stability control might have helped prevent this tragedy? If you ask me, 2012's mandatory stability control requirement cannot come soon enough. Here I was thinking Comcast probably didn't need any more bad news, given their subcontractors are consistently in the news for falling asleep, murder, digging in the wrong yard or blowing up laptops, dishwashers or people. But user newview submits this Consumerist report that says two racing Comcast vans were responsible for an accident last weekend in Huntsville, Alabama. As a result of the accident, one 3-Yr-Old Girl was temporarily placed on life support, and remains unconscious, according to WAFF in Huntsville.
Here's hoping that young Kayleen Smith makes a full recovery.
