Police Link SJ Gas Station Identity Theft to Case in Los Altos
The Bay Area has been getting hit by identity thieves stealing debit card info (click above link for full story). With all the gas rebate cards out there, I don't understand why folks would be using their debit card to buy fuel. Even if the station offers a lower cash or debit price, a gas card that offers 5% off is going to almost always be the better deal.
If you are looking for a good deal, I humbly suggest Pentagon Federal Credit Union. Their Visa card offers 5% on gas, 2% on groceries and 1.25% on everything else. To top things off, PenFed gives you cash back every month, you don't have to wait for some magic point balance before getting your money. Anyone can join PenFed by joining an associate so no worries about being enlisted or something like that.
That's my handy tip for the day. Enjoy!
