Fiat 500 Gets Pounded By Audi Q7

Update: Okay, okay....Once again I had a video on the page that started to play automatically on a page load. Sorry for startling you out of your stupor. You can still watch the video, but now your going to have to click here.

Not such a great result for the tiny 500 as the Q7 simply over-rides the 500's bumper. The apparent goal of the experiment was to prod manufacturer's into establishing better crash compatibility between different size and body types of cars. Manufacturers have begun to take such scenarios seriously. Take for example Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure technology that helps minimize the potential for under-ride or over-ride situations that can happen during head-on or offset frontal impacts with a significantly larger or smaller vehicle. Ford dropped the bumper height on its Explorer to make it less likely to cause damage to other vehicles.
