It's no secret that GM's been working on a small(er), RWD platform called alpha. When I tried to ask Bob Lutz about alpha back in January of this year, he said it was too early to talk about it and kept on walking. Fair enough. Now Automotive News is reporting that Cadillac will have an Alpha variant in its lineup in late 2010 as a 2011 model. There is still debate as to whether or not that car will be exclusively four cylinder with the chances being that it will also offer a larger six cylinder engine as an upgrade. This car will replace the Saab 9-3 based BLS that has been offered in Europe and the new model may carry the same moniker.
