Chevrolet MPV-7 Spyshot

When I last spoke with General Motors vice president for Chevrolet, Ed Peper in November '07 about the Delta based MPV-7, he indicated that such a product might have potential for the U.S. market. Sized and priced under the Traverse but still offering seating for up to seven, the vehicle would be a stylized people mover and not a minivan. Since that time we've seen gas prices skyrocket and GM announce that the Delta based Chevrolet Cruze could achieve 40 MPG with a 1.4 DI turbo mill. It would be an easy stretch to see an MPV-7 achieve over 30 MPG, which would be a very attractive proposition.

Next Auto has a few spyshots of what should be the MPV-7 undergoing testing. This product has not been confirmed for the U.S. market, but given current conditions I'd say this Mazda5 competitor is all but a lock.
