New smart fortwo Colors

The 2009 configurator is not up yet, but we do have shots of the official colors: rally red and metallic gray. Now here an interesting tidbit. The previous red was a metallic color and was extra charge. Furthermore, the metallic colors are not "molded-in color" but painted on. Get a rock chip and you'll notice right away whereas molded-in color should withstand damage better. The new red should be a truer red color than the previous tomato soup option and should be molded-in. The light yellow color is now off the factory menu and has been replaced by a metallic gray. That should mean that the gray will be extra charge and painted on.
