"Stoned" Dutch Researchers Find a Way to Clean Up Smog-Producing Pollutants

You got me. That headline is clearly misleading, but the researchers were Dutch and they were working with stones, paving stones to be exact. Scientists at the University of Twente mixed titanium dioxide into the top layer of the paving stones and viola, once you add sunlight you've got nitrogen oxide munching pavers will convert smog-producing pollutants into "harmless" nitrates that will wash away. Does it really work? We should know sometime next year after tests have been completed.
