Victor Kiam was so impressed with Remington shavers that he bought the company and proceeded to tell the whole country about it in a series of ads that have been seared into my brain since my childhood. Now comes word that a group of Saturn dealers may buy the brand from GM. Saturn truly is a different kind of car company, so anything is possible. Other scenarios (from a variety of sources) include refocusing the brand but keeping its current structure, allowing Opel to completely take over the lineup and drop the Saturn badge, bankruptcy, blending Saturn into other GM brands, purchase of the brand by another investor or car maker and an orderly shutdown.
Saturn has a nice, but not overly unique or exclusive, lineup of cars. In these troubled times, I don't know if that is enough to warrant the survival of a brand. I'd say the dealer buyout is a long shot.
