Honda Motor Company president Takanobu Ito
Anyone who had been hoping for an rear wheel drive Acura with a honkin' V8 engine under the hood isn't going to be happy hear this, but the new president of Honda Motor Company Takanobu Ito told reporters recently that "I don't think we need a classic front engine, rear drive car. It would be meaningless to emulate what other companies have been doing for more than five decades."
Of course the counterpoint could be made that companies have produced these sedans with this setup because it works really well, but Ito doesn't want to hear about it and would rather focus on other technologies such as hybrids.
