No Scirocco For the USA?

What the, huh? All along as we've been reading about the forthcoming Scirocco, I've just naturally assumed that it would be available in the USA. However, hitting newsstands on Monday, Automotive News is reporting that the Scirocco will not be sold in the USA. Something to do with the hatch competing with the GTI.

That reasoning doesn't make a lot of sense to me, it would seem that VW would want all hands on deck at its US dealers. Stay tuned for more info as the article is released.
