Next Jaguar XJ: "An extremely modern Maserati Quattroporte"

Those are the exact words of Ken Gorin, head of the Jaguar Business Operations Council. Gorin goes on to describe the next XJ, code named X351, as making people "uncomfortable" because of its unique styling. Gorin says that being uncomfortable is good because the XJ is several years away from market. The car will stop you in your tracks and make you say, "Wow! What's that?"

That's quite a build up, but Jaguar will need cars like this if it is to stay alive. The S-Type is soon be replaced, the X-Type will be fading out and the XK was just introduced. The real question is what can Jaguar do with the space left behind by the X-Type. Unfortunately the X didn't deliver for Jaguar here in the USA and has left a bad taste in the mouths of many dealers. Will Jaguar replace the X with another "volume" product and if so what shape will it take? Stay tuned!
