Daimler AG: The Dollar In Fact May Make Us Holler

Well, they didn't use the word holler, but Daimler is thinking about upping purchasing and production in the land of the Greenback. Why not? Producing vehicles in this country for export would be a capital idea right now and Mercedes has already been exporting Alabama made SUVs. A quick check of XE.com shows that one Euro is currently worth $1.46677, now that's some serious buying power for a currency that once aimed for parity with the dollar.

The direct quote from Daimler's chief financial officer Bodo Uebber:

'Given the current (dollar exchange) rate, it will naturally be interesting to examine whether it makes sense to have a higher purchasing volume in the US or whether to have a higher production in the dollar-denominated region.'
