Das Beetle: Backstory of VWs New Ad Campaign's Hero Max

So you'll recall my last post regarding Sean Fanning and a 1964 Beetle named Max "It's Vat Da People Vant." Well the car is quite stunning and apparently there are five of them. Detroit News has a great article about how those cars were restored by Oxford, Michigan based State of Mind Customs. It was race against the clock and involved a team of dedicated restorers and the assistance of a marketing company that helped to source all the parts needed for the job.
