8/19/08 Update: Well let's see how Oprah's cars did! Pricing below includes a ten percent buyer's premium, so the hammer price was less.
1988 Rolls-Royce Corniche II Convertible (est. $70,000-$100,000) went for $60,500
1997 Aston Martin DB7 Volante (est. $50,000-$65,000) garnered $50,600
1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing (est. $600,000-$800,000) collected $605,000

Original 7/28/08 Post:
Flipping through the wife's copy of Us Weekly, okay we "share" the subscription, something caught my eye. It wasn't the bikini shot of Helen Mirren, although I will say that she looks amazing at age 63, but rather the fact that Oprah will be auctioning off a trio of classic cars at Gooding & Company's Pebble Beach auction. Your choices are a 1988 Rolls-Royce Corniche II Convertible (est. $70,000-$100,000), a 1997 Aston Martin DB7 Volante (est. $50,000-$65,000) and a 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing (est. $600,000-$800,000).
The Roller would be too gaudy for me, but I'd take the Aston Martin or Benz in a heartbeat. The auction will be held on August 16 & 17 and the catalog states that Oprah's cars will be sold with no reserve.
