Could Leasing Crackdown Be a Boon For Mechanics?

Some folks reckon that more people buying vehicles as opposed to leasing them will mean bigger profits for mechanics. The logic is that people will keep their car for longer and take better care of it. I'm skeptical about this. One of the mechanics on the video is a transmission shop owner and he was excited about Chrysler ending its leasing program. However, Chrysler also has a lifetime powertrain warranty for the original owner, so if a tranny were to go belly up the car's owner would head on back to Chrysler for a warranty repair. I'm actually pretty skeptical about the whole "increased maintenance" scenario.
