Place Your Accident Here: Caltrans Considers Ads for Road Alert Signs

Pictured above is a road alert sign displaying an amber alert. The above sign might also chastise aggressive drivers or warn of an accident ahead. However, what if that sign was a shining, high resolution beacon of commerce? Caltrans is considering allowing advertisements to be placed on road alert signs in exchange for badly needed funds. The downside, of course, is that the ads would be another distraction for drivers. Yah think? At this point its just an idea being batted around by administrators, but that's how it always starts isn't it?
