Bay Area residents…Are you ready to Fiesta?

You might have just recovered from Cinco de Mayo, but if you are a person who loves to drive the latest models, then you might want to make plans for a special event from Ford. FoMoCo is about to launch its European Fiesta small car here in the States as a 2011 model and in the months leading up to the launch they are planning to conduct 100,000 test drives.

What’s the big deal? Well, for years many auto fanatics in the States have clamored for shot at Ford of Europe’s selection of vehicles. Now, thanks to the powers that be, we will finally be gaining access to these excellent cars. The Fiesta isn’t just a looker, it also promises to be a hoot to drive. To date, the new Fiesta has collected an impressive array of awards, including Croatian Car of The Year amongst many others. Certainly this Fiesta will be light years ahead of the Aspire, a rather milquetoast effort that Ford foisted upon unsuspecting Americans from 1994 to 1997.

Here in the Bay Area our opportunity to get behind the wheel of a Fiesta is fast approaching. The Fiesta will be in Mountain View on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17 at the “A La Carte & Art” festival. In San Francisco things are more up in the air, with Ford promising that Fiestas will be prowling the streets between May 23 and May 25th, but won't actually fess up to actual locations.
