Hyundai USA Gets a Wagon, But PLEASE Let's Not Call it an i30 Clone (because it's not)

A number of blogs have jumped on the story that Hyundai will be bringing an Elantra wagon back to the US market. The stories all cite the same source, Automotive News. That's great and it's the truth. It's being represented in these stories that the i30 is a virtual doppelganger to the forthcoming wagon.
However, I think something is being left out. The AN story states that the Elantra wagon will be derived from i30 but that it will be sportier. How much difference will there be? That's up for debate.
It's no wonder that Hyundai wants its wagon/hatch mojo back. The previous Elantra GT hatch amounted for almost 40 percent of Elantra sales. Ka Chow! That's a lot of sales to leave on the table! I'm so happy to hear of a hatchback generating such numbers!
For your viewing pleasure I have the Hyundai i30 wagon and the Elantra GT.
